John Tittle

John started his first firm at age 24 and as this organization grew, he turned his focus to financial advisory services. He testified in his first case in 1983 and added valuation in litigation matters to his practice in 1984. A referral, from the same law firm that retained Mr. Tittle in his first expert testimony matter, led to a bankruptcy advisory assignment in 1986. Merger and acquisition advisory/due diligence services were added to the repertoire in the late ’80′s.
Mr. Tittle has over 30 years of accounting and financial experience, including founding, growing, and managing an accounting and consulting practice as well as financial advisory firms. Moreover, he has taken a company public and has experience as the Chief Financial Officer of a then AMEX-listed manufacturer and distributor. Other than his three years serving as a CFO, John has spent his entire career providing professional services to clients.
John has practiced with firms of all sizes on multiple occasions, as a Director or Partner with Big-Four/Six Firms, as a Partner in a regional accounting/consulting firm, and as Managing Director/Principal with large and small financial advisory boutiques. His experience includes clients of all sizes, from smaller middle-market companies to multi-billion dollar enterprises. Mr. Tittle has significant expertise in advising “mom and pop” concerns, middle-market businesses, and larger privately-held entities as well as companies that have publicly-traded securities.
Prior to founding the Tittle Advisory Group, John served as a Principal of NHB advisors, Inc., a national restructuring and financial advisory services boutique. Before joining NHB, he led the Southwest Region for XRoads Solutions Group, LLC and previously was a partner in the Financial Advisory Services practice of Deloitte, where he led the firm’s Reorganization Services practice in the Mid-America Region. He was also a Director in Financial Advisory Services at Price Waterhouse.
Mr. Tittle is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP), and holds the Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designations from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA) and Certification in Distressed Business Valuation (CDBV) designations from the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors.
He is currently a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors, the Texas Society of CPAs, the Turnaround Management Association, and the American Bankruptcy Institute. John is a 30th Anniversary Circle Member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and served on its Board of Directors for 15 years (2002 to 2017). He also served as ABI Treasurer for four years and on its Executive Committee for eight years. Mr. Tittle currently serves on the 2017 Education Committee of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges. Mr. Tittle graduated, magna cum laude, with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) from Texas Christian University in 1979.
